What are the mpg on big rigs ?

My (the truck I drive for my company) 2007 freightliner gets about 6.4 mpg when I'm hauling 20,000 to 30,000lbs. Some of the more power-full trucks get as little as 4 mpg. We are limited to 65mph top speed and the engine is limited to 2,200 rpm. The load your hauling and how the weight is distributed also matters
What are the mpg on big rigs ?
They vary between 5 mpg and 7 mpg depending on the make, model, engine size, transmission, rear ends, weight of load, speed, idle time and the driver.

I drove an 06 volvo up until Friday...I averaged 6.5 mph with the truck governed at 65 mph at 1450rpms.

There are a few drivers who I am hearing are getting up to 8 mpg with the trucks they own and drive
