There is an Expedition I want to buy from a family owned business that's been around for about 12 years, but to be on the safe side there is also an Explorer I could buy for a BIG, we have commercials on TV kind of dealership. Would you buy from a family owned, and has anybody ever had a good or bad experience with a family owned verses a Big dealership?
Would you buy a car from a family owned business or a big car dealership.?

Well go with whoever is ready to negotiate down to the lowest price.
Reply:they are both held to some standards on the types of cars (condition) they can sell. just look over each car well (mechanically) and go with the one that offers the best value. I'm not a fan of big dealerships. I think they have too much wrapped up in commissions and the entire encounter always seems like fake friendship. anytime i've bought a car from a locally owned or small dealer, it's gone much smoother and the people are a bit more genuine and friendly. I guess it also depends on whether you already have approved credit with your bank, but seems like big dealerships take much longer to wrap up the deal.
Reply:The rule of thumb is, never buy or sell anything from a family member:..........
As for a big dealership, I always do my research first and I pay the price that I want to and never pay their price.........
Reply:If it is about money then buy from an individual and avoid all the extra cost. You can take the car and have a shop look at it to be sure it is in good condition. ANd you save all the money the other two options are making for profit!
