Help with Car Tires Please!!!?

I need help quick. I have a Subaru Impreza (AWD) and I need a new right rear tire. I have a nail through the sidewall and it cannot be plugged. I have 9000 miles on the car and tires with regular rotations. They are Bridgestone Potenza's re92a-89v. Am I safe just to replace the single tire instead of all four? I know that if you change one it may affect the driveline and tranny but the tires are less than a year old with probably 25% or less treadwear. I just need someone's opinion thanks!!

you can chagne the tire jsut make sure its the same size. it doesnt have to be the same brand but the same size
Reply:I doubt if you replace the one tire with a new one that it would effect the driveline or tranny, it's a matter millimeters. If you were to change the size of the tire is where you might run into other alignment issues, but even then some different sized tires are within millimeters of each other and would have little effect.

One option you might look into is buying a used tire from a local tire shop that sells the same brand you have on the car. I know that some shops keep some used tires around for just this reason.

Best thing to do if your still worried is to call some of the local tires shops and ask their professional opinion, if you don't like the answer from the first shop, call another and compare the results.

Best of luck to you.
Reply:sure!, you can just replace 1 tire. theres no use of buying all 4, just because you have a flat. go ahead and get a new tire for that side, it wont hurt nothing, just make sure its the same size as the other 3 are.
