What's the difference between unleaded gasoline and all the others?

is one better than the other?
What's the difference between unleaded gasoline and all the others?
All modern gasoline today are UNLEADED gasoline.

They are better (than leaded) gasoline in that they do NOT pollute the environment.

Good Luck...
What's the difference between unleaded gasoline and all the others?
As now-a-days we have higher octane gasolines, lead has become non useful. Before, when we had gasolines with octane number under 85 (as still there is in some countries) you needed to "stabilize" that fuel, in order to not explode before the spark plug "sparks", without it, the engine wouldn't work well (gasoline would explode before the ignition in the combustion chamber). Lead was also useful as a lubricant in the cilinder head. Now, all the other gasolines only vary in their octane number, if I'm not wrong, you have "regular" with 87 octane number, the next with 89 and the premium with 91. In some parts there is even a 98 octane gasoline, for high performance engines (the higher the compresion, the higher the octane number you need.

So, is better with lead or without it? now is unthinkable to have unleaded gasoline, because environmental and health concerns and also because it would harm permanently the catalyst system of your car.
Reply:what they said...
