Would it hurt your vehicle to put in e85 instead of regular unleaded?
IF its not designed for it,yes!
Would it hurt your vehicle to put in e85 instead of regular unleaded?
If your vehicle is not designed to run on both- it will cause a world of hurt for you- it can ruin your rubber fuel lines, just for starters. Also- you would generally get less mileage than you do with gasoline. in a nutshell- if its not made for it- dont do it. Whatever you save on the e85 will manifest itself in other more expensive ways.
Would it hurt your vehicle to put in e85 instead of regular unleaded?
If your vehicle is NOT designed as a flex fuel vehicle ... ABSOLUTELY!
e85 is slightly corrosive, more so than regular gasoline. Thus, a lot of the internal piping are different to deal with the corrosiveness in a e85 compatible engine.
Furthermore, use of e85 in non-flex-fuel vehicles risk damaging the catalytic converter, and if prolonged, damage to the cylinder heads as well.
Finally, e85 will make a regular car feel VERY sluggish, as if losing abou 30% of the power or more.
Reply:If your vehicle is not designed to run on E85 DO NOT put it in the tank. I know gas prices are high in the US but do not let that damage your car. Check the gas tank cap and the manual and see what they recommend.

it is illegal in all states to drive any vehicle that has altered ,or missing safety equipment...ie ,,,a windshield...but in our area of the country the police take into account that its a modified custom truck ..on your way to a car show ....they may stop you, but wont ticket u,if theres no other issues....make sure you have insurance and all of your paper work, and no other safety violations....

Does it hurt a radar detector to be in the sun all day?
My Valentine 1 radar detector sits in the sweltering heat in my car all day at work. Will that affect it? Does direct sunlight affect it? Or do I have to take it down every day?
Does it hurt a radar detector to be in the sun all day?
Sunlight itself is unlikely to affect a radar detector but excessive heat (produced by exposure to direct sun) can make it fail sooner than if it were kept cool.
Solid state electronic devices have a lifespan which is related to the temperature at which they're operated. The hotter they are, the shorter their life.
It makes sense therefore, not to leave your detector exposed to sunlight if it causes the case to get so hot that you can't touch it without feeling pain.
It's also a good idea not to leave your radar detector in plain view like this because it invites theft.
Does it hurt a radar detector to be in the sun all day?
It's not good to leave any electronic device sitting in the sun inside a hot car all day. I would move it, if possible.
One solution is to use a visor holder for your radar detector. (I added a link to one in the sources, below.) A visor holder keeps your radar detector up high, above your head on your visor. In addition to keeping your radar detector out of the sun, a radar detector visor holder also elevates your radar detector, providing even better radar detection. If you use a Beltronics or Escort radar detector, there are additional accessories that allow you to connect a hidden power cord between your visor-mounted radar detector and your power source.
