Octane Testing in Pennsylvania?

Does anyone think that it should be a requirement to test for the quality and octane of gasoline in Pennsylvania?

Do you think that all of the oil companies being on "the honor system" means that you always get what you pay for?

It seems 47 other states feel the need to protect their comsumers, but for some reason it's a non-issue in Pennsylvania.

Wonder why?

Just curious if anyone else feels the same or has some input.
Octane Testing in Pennsylvania?
Good point and I did not know that they did not do this in your state......

I my state this is always on the news and many times they have found that the octane ratings were around 84 to 86 for regular and the station was shut down until this was corrected.

I dont think that it is the stations fault but as you stated it is the gasoline companies that do this and screw us.

I am in the automotive repair business and we do have some cars monthly are towed in because the car quit running soon after they had filled up.

We dont have a way to prove what is going on but after the fuel filter is changed and a large amount of gas removed from the tank and refilled with gas that we know is good the vehicle will run great.

Its sad for the customer having to pay us for this as well as paying for the disposal of the gas that they just bought and sometimes the station will pay for this but it is very rare........
