Why is the gas continously going up? what is the reason?

What reason are thety saying it's getting so expensive???? 5 dollars for a gallon of gas is pretty extreme

Supply and Demand. The US is dependent on gas for our way of life so everyone wants and needs it. The oil producing nations are limiting supply. If you do not want to pay the $4-$5 price tag then you will need to make a lifestyle change and walk, bicycle, use public transit, etc.
Reply:supply and demand; if they raised it to 10 bucks a gallon, many people will still HAVE TO buy it.

greed.
Reply:still cheaper than europe. over there its over 8 bucks a gallon. its also the gas companys are making a killing on gas and the way the markets are going its not looking too good right now.
Reply:The oil boys want all the money they can get.
Reply:Food for thought: here in the U.S. the profit margin for oil companies is 4% per gallon, yet the government gets 15% per gallon in taxes (but everyone hates the oil companies --). In Saudi Arabia it only costs $2.00 per BARREL to produce crude oil yet they are selling it for over $140.00. The problem is greed, only it ain't the oil companies this time around.....
